Tuesday was a better day, full of preparations for the special conference. we had to get the food and the chapel ready. At 10 we had to go to the airport with the assistants and pick up the missionaries coming in from sardegna. they slept at our place and
yesterday morning we got up and the zone leaders of napoli, sardegna and us had a meeting with Elder Texiera. IT was really cool. We talked about the importance of missionary exchanges. Then the conference was amazing. The Texieras were explaining to us that it is very very rare that a member of the 70 returns to the same mission twice to do a mission tour in a year or even 2 years. They said that they did not do what they were supposed to do, and the Lord sent them back to us to finish what we didnt learn or feel the last conference. They brought a huge spirit with them and it was really great. We talked for the majority of our time about our average of new investigators a week as a misison. which is 1.1. The last time they came, it was 0.5. They were happy with us that as a mission, we've been able to get this number doubled in less than a year. But they also really exhorted ussaying we are way below our potential. When he said that, i really knew what he was talking about. so often, missionaries just go through the motions, serve their 2 years and go home, and act like they were the greatest missionary ever. But if a missionary really cares and loves his Savior and brothers and sisters, he will work and really put his heart and mind into this work. If he does this, baptisms will increase. It was really a cool experience translating for him too. Anziano Packer did the morning translation and i did the afternon half. And he told us many other things, especially about the importance of asking for referrals. A missionary can get so many referrals if he just knows how to. the last thing he said that i thought was really cool, was he said, when you get off your missions, and you start to date, never go out with someone thatyou can imagine marrying in the temple.
well, thats all the time i've got for today, love you all, ciao ciao
Anziano Lane
