we had another really good week. We've been working with all of our
investigators and a few of them are making some really good
progress...
So we Margarita, and she's a 65 year old lady and we found her about 2
months ago doing house finding. She told us to come back later and so,
this past week we did. She let us in and just told us how horrible her
life has been lately. Her brother jsut died, her husband left her for
another woman a few months ago, her dad was murdered and i could
continue. But, these things have really pepared her for this gospel.
She feels the love of God and she wants to be baptized, so, we fixed a
day in the end of November for her baptisimal service. She needed to
go buy glasses so she could read the book of mormon. shes great,
then we have the cousin of Salvatore and her 9 year old son. This is
really cool. We went over to teach them for the first time on thursday
and they were shocked with teh spirit. I haven't really ever seen
something like it, but, they just couldn't speak, and they agreed to
read the book of mormon and they really wanted to see us again, so
they invited us over for dinner monday night and the spirit was good.
Then after rosa, the mom, told us that her son is stuggling in school
because he's been only reading the book of mormon lately. I couldnt
respond to her. but, i guess its a good thing. Anyways, they want to
come to church and they are really promising.
other than that, the work is going reasonably well, this last week, we
finalized the stuff for the few hogh schools we were talking with, and
one said we cant present our church there and another said that we
can. So im excited for that. We'll try going by some other schools as
well.
then this weekend, we had district conference and it was a lot of fun.
I got to see Anziano Nelson for the first time in the mission and it
was good talking with him. We talked about some of the good times our
dads had when they served the people of England, it was really cool.
Oh then some really dumb thing happened was that i had to sing this
dumb tenor part of a musical number during the district conference,
and i've never sung any tenor part, i didn't like it, but, it was all
good.
Just one problem here in the city of Crotone, and its a big one... our
branch. we've got a lot of fights going on between some members and
divisions and i honestly have no idea what in the world we can do,
but, we're trying, and i'm sure things will work out. It's caused me a
lot of stress though and i dont understand why some people are doing
certain things. we've organized a meeting between our branch president
and elders quorum president so they can discuss some stuff. I think we
need a branch council meeting, anyways, we wont worry too much about
it, there's only so much that we can do.
okay, well that's it for this week, the church is true, and always
will be. ciaoooooooo

hey guys, this was a weird week...
on wednesday, we went to Taranto to meet the missionaries there, and me and Anziano Schwing prepared our training for Zone Conference, and the planning went well, our training was on prayer and using the book of mormon while teaching. then on thursday, we had zone conference in Bari, and it was a lot of fun. President Kelly is one of the most inspired people i've ever met, he is the man, and he gave a really good training, I really liked it, and then us and the assistants did our's. then we drove home with the Thompson's and we got back late. then on sunday, Stefania and Antonio received the Holy Ghost and it was really special for me. I got to impart the blessing on Antonio, and it was really spiritual, it was a long blessing and i wanted to stop so many times, but the spirit wanted to keep going, and so i did. It was great because Gian Luca, one of our investigators, whose the son of Stefania came and also his 2 other sisters. Then on monday, i had to go to the orthodontist because about 1 month ago, i got a cut on the inside of my mouth, right where my retainer goes, and so every time i put my retainer in, it kills my mouth and hurts so bad. And so i can only leave it in for about 10 minutes and then i cant use it again for about 3 days to let swelling to go down. So, i had enough and i went with my branch president and he used to work at this place, so, i got a nice hook up, and i got right in and they cut out some of the plastic and so it didnt irritate me anymore, and then the doctor said i broke it because the swelling in my mouth was really bad, and it cracked it a little bit, so, he he needs to fix it, and i'll probably get it back by the end of this week.
We've also tried a few new things this week, we've organized and italian class for the immigrants. Then we went to a few schools to see if we could present our church to the students, and this is going to be sweet. Im really excited about this. I'm not sure when and even if we'll be allowed to do it, but one of the school presidents is thinking about it, and with another, we need to go back to talk with another day.
Last thing, yesterday after English class, we went to see the football team of Crotone and they're not really good, so my companion (who played QB in college) and i, threw the ball around and it was funny, all of the players just stopped and watched us. Most of it's becasue my comp has a rocket as an arm, and he throws the ball like he's got a cannon as an arm.
That was basically it for this week, it wasn't too exciting, but it was very productive, and the the fruits are coming forth.
ciao ciao ciao vi voglio trecento sacchi di bene,

Hey guys,
this past week was really good. At the moment, nothing is really coming to mind except for the baptism. Its was awesome. Sunday morning, we had church and then we went to sister Zarfino's house for lunch, then at 3 we went to church to start the baptismal service. It was really good, salvatore gave a good talk and then i got to talk on the Holy Ghost and finally at about 4, we headed to a place called Capo Collona, where an ancient tample was built before Christ and due to a huge earthquake, it all been destroyed except for 1 collumn that stayed up (btw, Crotone is older than rome). Anyways, the weather was terrible, it was cold and the winds were outrageous, we got there and when we got out of the car and went down to the water, to a really nice spot that Stefania picked a few days before. then we took some picks and we went into the water. It was cold, but the water actually wasn't really cold, at least it wasn't like california water, and we went about 20 yards out and Salvatore baptized Stefania, it was hilarious, as he put her down in the water, he didnt get her all teh way down, but luckily, and big wave came and took him out, so not only Stefania, but also Salvatore got baptized. It was really funny. (And the wave wasnt even big). Then i got to baptize little Antonio, he is a stud, he knows so much about the church for an 11 year old, and he's actually wanted to get baptized for 5 years, but, he waited for his mom.
Everyone thought that we would get pneumonia, but, were good, however, Stefania and Antonio got sick, but they're good now. We went and saw them yesterday and we brought them cinnamon rolls and brownies.
Stefania's mom is probably the strongest member that we have here in Crotone. She's great and she has a great knowledge of the church.
We also started working with Stefania's oldest of her 5 kids this past week, he's 25, and hes a good kid, he's started reading the book of mormon too. But, that's about it. It was a really good baptism and i was super excited to see one here in Crotone, and also the members, the'r faith is really growing and even though we're not many here, in this small little city, there's a lot of faith, and i feel like this city will continue to grow and be blessed. October the 9th has been a great day for me in the mission. Becasue exactly 1 year ago from sunday, my isaak and Margherita were baptized in Terni.
the Lord has shown his hand here and my testimony has grown. The Lord has prepared people all over the world to accept this, His gospel. Crotone i think is proof of this. It's a real tough city, and we just saw 2 of God's wonderful children take that first step that opens the gate to an eternity of blessings
love you guys,
Anziano Lane

We had just an incredible week here in Crotone.
i cant really talk about everything that happened, but, i can really think of eveything right now, but we got 11 new investigators here and it was something that our mission hasnt seen for at least since president kelly's been here. it was really awesome, on sunday we had 6 (but we really had 9, and we had to drop 3 of them becasue 3 of them moved away) and i really wanted to get 11, so, we went to a family of 3 and we started teaching them and after a few minutes, 2 of their relatives came in and i knew that we had found our 5 new investigators, so, we got our 11 new investigators and as a zone we got 25 and there's only 7 companionships, so we did work! It was great, also on sunday, it was my companions birthday, so i made swedish pancakes and also the swedish fat pancakes, and they were good, then, after the 1st conference, we made pizza with salvatore, but it turned out really bad, and after the last one, we had a party for a member and my comp's birthdays, it was fun.
We also have a baptism on sunday, i am stoked for it, and it's opening the doors for many more. This lady, Stefania, who has been an investigator for about 10 years, is finally getting baptized, so, we're doing it on sunday, and she has 5 kids, and 4 of them are not members, she has a 24 year old son, a 20 year old inactive, 2 daughters who are 14 and 18 and the 11 year old son. the 2 boys want to get baptized and we'll work on the daughters, so its sweet!!
Then on tuesday, me and the other zone leader (my german) went up to rome for our zone leader council and it was a lot of fun. We talked a lot about obedience and how right now its an issue with many missionaries in the mission, and yesterday evening, after our 10 hour trip back from rome, we got back, and that's why im doing my email today instead of yesterday. But, that's about it, so, have a great week, love you guys!
