gosh, i dont even know where to begin, probably the most dramatic weeks of my mission. On thursday i went to Bari to pick up my greenie and it was a good day, he's a good guy, we've got a lot to work on, especially the language, but, he's a good guy. He's from Orange county, CA, he worked at disneyland at the peter pan ride, so, i'm sure that we've seen him before when we we're visiting.

This week i've had to work a lot on my patience, i found myself praying day in and day out for this attribute. I just want to work hard and he's finding it a little difficult to do the work part. So, i figured that its still his first week here, and i did push him hard, but, not overbearing. I just want to make sure that he does his best. We're going to continue to push it, even through the heat and sweat, we're gunna do all that we can to baptize.

As far as the work, we basically just hit a cement wall flying at about 100 miles per hour, it hurt really bad. we went from 6 investigators with baptisimal dates down to 2, and even with these 2 we're struggling, however, we're going to continue to do our best and just not get discouraged. We do have some good news though, we got 2 new investigators and 1 or which is doing great, she is the sister of a less active and she's just ready for baptism, she just needs to come to church 3 times and finish the lessons, but, she's awesome.

Another thing i wanted to mention is that its a little difficult im used to teaching and doing about 50% of the work, but now its like 95%, its crazy. It's completely normal too, from what i hear, or at least in a foreign speking country. I want to help my companion get over his timidness or shyness, whatever you call it, and get him more involved, because it's only when you try that you can grow. So, we'll get him going and have him bear his testimony a lot and we made a deal to speak only italian for 1 month... it lasted for about 5 mintues, but, we're going to work on it for sure. I gotta go now, but im excited for this transfer and we're going to baptized!

Love you guys,

well, i got good news. I'm staying for my fourth transfer in Foggia. We had a really good week, but, some not so good things happened. I'll just focus on the goods though. First thing is that we've got 5 baptisimal dates, we had 7 last week, but Anna got baptized and we dropped 1. Speaking of Anna, it was incredible. She's been coming to church for 2 years, but hasn't ever wanted to commit, and im pretty bold and up-front about what i want, and my first week here in Foggia, 4 months ago, we told her that we wanted to see her baptized, and she basically dropped us, she's really stubborn. So, for about 3 months, she didnt talk to us at all, however, she still came to church. Then about a month ago, we set up an appointment with her and we felt an incredible spirit and we just told her that there are tons of blessings that are waiting for her and that she needs them, and she accepted the invited to be baptized. Then we had the interview a few weeks ago, and on Saturday, she did it. It was sweet.

I have some good/bad news now... Me and Anziano Packer are splitting up, i really needed the change though, b/c 4 months with the same companion is a long time, even though it was good. He's going to a city called Cosenza, and i get to be a trainer!! I get a greenie, straight from the MTC. I am going crazy, i cant wait til tomorrow to pick him up in Bari. I'm a little nervous b/c im still young in the mission and i dont know everything, but, im gunna do my best and we're going to baptize and tear up Foggia. It's going to be so much fun. I actually really wanted to train and i feel like its the greatest assignment that I could ever get as a missionary.

Thats pretty much all i canreally write for this week. President sent me some stuff about training via emai that i need to read. But, i'm really excited about this next transfer and we're going to work hard.

Have a great week,
Love, Anziano Lane

What a good week we just had. We have 5 baptisimal dates set and we're pushing forward. Some missionary is going to be comming to Foggia next thursday with a nice little surprise. As far as right now. Anna Piano is getting baptized this Saturday, however, we cant call her to see how things are going (because she doesnt want us to, only because shes really busy). But, were hoping for the best and we feel like she's ready. Then we've got little Stefano. He's the man, our little 10 year old who cant wait to get baptized, but, the problem with him dad... We figured out that things aren't going to well for stefano's parents, they are going through a divorce and the dad is uncooperable, if thats even a word. However, stefano's mom, who is a member, hasn't told the dad yeat, who is a catholic, and we're pushing her to have the courage to do so, becuase we need his permission as well to baptize him. Also we've got Emilio who is kind've a pain, this is the guy that lives 100 miles away and he's not really progressing. He finally got his license and he's working on the insurance so he can start coming to church, and once he starts coming, he will be able to get baptized. We recently also found a couple families, one lives close to us and the other in a different city. But, we found this family and we taught them the first lesson and it went well, then the next lesson only the 24 year old son was home and we spoke to him and set a baptisimal date with him, he's reading the Book of Mormon and praying and he's the man. He has a huge testimony of Christ. The last family is from Africa, we found them as we were finishing some of Anziano Packer's documents. It's a family of 5, the parents have 3 daughters ages 2, 5, and 9. They're awesome, we visited them yesterday and we could only teach Charles, the dad and he's been looking for the truth for 20 years, he loves his family and wants to know how he can be with them forever. So, our message was appealing to him. We set a date for the 11th of June with him. Him and his wife have been in italy for 20 years and they speak perfect english and italian, they're legit. We're gunna baptize them!!

Also, i've been studying the new testament a lot an i found out why the boccio (kiss) is so common in italy. People always doing the cheek kissing, anyways, it's becuase Paul told them to about 2000 years ago. (Romans 16:16) it's actually probably not where they got it from, but, i made that connection. Last thing, yesterday evening after planning, me and Anziano Packer were bored and we saw a box of jellybeans that the fam sent me and in this box there were 2 of each color jellybean. however, one of each was a good flavor, and one was a nasty flavor like skunk or dog food or vomit, something like that. So, me and Anziano Packer each took the same colored jellybeans and ate them, one of us would get the good jellybean, the other would get the gross one. Well, we did this untill we finished the box, which wasn't too many, and the only thing i learned from this activity is how bad my luck is. Out of the 15 jellybeans i ate i only ate 2 that were not disgusting, anziano Packer on the other hand got 13 tasty ones. Anyways, that was the week, not much else went on. We're excited for Foggia's short future and we get the call on saturday to who's going and who's staying.

Love you guys,

Anziano Lane

well, Favour got baptized on Saturday, it was asesome!! he is the man, he gave the sweetest testimony ever after he received the Holy Ghost on Sunday. Then we found this little kid playing soccer in the field at church and we asked him why he wasn't baptized (he's 10and his mom is a member and his dad is not) he said, well, techincally im half mormon half catholic, and that he doesn't know why he's not baptized, then we tlaked to his mom and she invited us over that night and we taught him the importance of baptism and how its going to bles his life. then we set a date with him to be baptized for the 14th of may, there was an incredible spirit and he's ready. The only possible problem is that his dad is a catholic and we're not sure how he's going to take it, but, with prayer, i think his heart will be softened. Other than that, Foggia is blossoming like a rose, just like Lorenzo Snow prophesied and its seeing miracles.

Today i got some sweet news. News i've been waiting and praying for for a long time, Marcus putting the tag back on, and going to do the greatest thing that he could ever do. He's about to enter into war, not physical war, but spiritualy war, he's about to pull on the powers of heaven and defeat the adversary. He's going to Nebraska to invite others to come unto christ, helping them to accept the gospel restored through repentance, baptism, the gift of the holy ghost and persevering to the end. Talk about someone who is needed in Nebraska, not needed by just anybody, but by God. By divine revelation from God through his Profet Thomas S Monson, he has called Elder Marcus Lane to serve as his special ops soldier. And i know he's gunna do it. He's gunna fulfill his purpose, its not gunna be easy, but its gunna be fun, and worth it. There's nothing like serving a misison, you get to offer salvation free to everyone all day every day, how awesome is that, and how fulfilling it is when your brothers in sisters accept it.

I love the italians, the ternani and the foggiani with all my heart. I LOVE THEM! I wouldnt rather serve anyone else. Marcus is going to develop this love for the nebraskans and he wil serve them until his mission is brought to a close. I have no doubt of this. He is a chice son of our Father in Heaven. gotta go, talk to you guys later
